Volunteer to Tutor

it’s easy as 1-2-3!

1 hour with one student

2 times a week

for only 3 months

Are you 14 or older? Do you want to make a lasting difference in the life of a child?

Join Children’s Literacy Center in offering one-to-one tutoring at no cost to families.

Our experienced staff will train you to use our fun, award-winning Peak Reader® curriculum.

Watch your student learn and grow through reading stories, playing word games, and unlocking the meaning of words! You will give your student the skills to succeed for the rest of their lives. Spread the gift of reading…ONE child at a time.

Please review the following questions before completing the application:

1. Can you make a commitment to volunteer for a minimum time period of one semester?

Fall semester: September through December (12 weeks)

Spring semester: February through May (12 weeks)

Summer semester: June through July (6 weeks)                                                                                     abc

2. Can you volunteer on a regularly scheduled basis?

CLC asks you to commit to tutoring a child twice a week (or once a week at our Saturday locations).

See our tutoring times and locations:                                                                                 http://www.childrensliteracycenter.org/tutoring-locations.                                                                                                                                   abc

3. Can you complete the two hour training required to become a tutor?

Training can easily be completed online on your own time, from your own computer.  Once you have completed an application, CLC will simply email you a link to our training platform and guide you through the online training process.

CLC also offers training in person for individuals who do not wish to complete the training online. If you wish to attend an in-person training once you have completed an application, please review the in-person training schedule below and then contact Pamela Polke at pamela@childrensliteracycenter.org.
